MARCEL BOGERS

Marcel Bogers is a post-doc in Innovation Management at the University of Southern Denmark, Sønderborg. He obtained his Ph.D. in Management of Technology from the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology). Before doing his PhD, he studied at Eindhoven University of Technology, University of California at Berkeley, and Chalmers University of Technology. His research focuses on the management and organization of innovation, openness in innovation processes and systems, and the role of users in innovation. Email: bogers@mci.sdu.dk

Participatory innovation is still a new experience to many practitioners. How do you make sure you are actually listening to users? And how do you organize your company internally to properly involve external stakeholders. Participatory innovation is the new discipline of involving users of products and services, and understanding what they are really saying, even if some of those signals are not what you want to hear or see.
